MULE Method is revolutionizing the way masons build. In the Spring of 2021 Deer Valley Storage, a storage facility in Phoenix, Arizona was spec’d to build with over 30k 8x8x32 CMU. Both the project Architect and General Contractor agreed to the use of over-sized block considering both the productivity and liability upside.
The Deer Valley Storage project was converted from a full 8x8x16 CMU scope to 33,400 8x8x32 and 2,600 8x8x16. The innovative Masonry Contractor, Atlas Masonry, presented this as the evolution of masonry to the General Contractor and Architect. Their buy-in allowed Atlas Masonry to build faster, safer, and with unparalleled precision.
Construction Robotics was on-site with the Masonry team to train them on the MULE for the first few days of block laying. By the end of the first week the masons fully embraced the MULEs and recognized immediate productivity gains and less fatigue.
